La Grande Folie': bewitching Occitan polyphony
San Salvador is not a concert of music from faraway islands... San Salvador is a radical concert sung by six voices, two toms, twelve hands and a tambourine. Combining the energy and raw poetry of popular music with a skilful orchestration, the concert is a subtle alchemy of soft, hypnotic vocal harmonies savagely swept away by a relentless rhythm, resulting in a disconcerting moment in a mix between the tragic and the joyous, with a rare intensity at the crossroads of trance, punk choir and math-rock constructions. Danceable and warm. Hyper-rhythmic and breathless.
